Since 2009, CISS brings together PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and leading scholars in the fields of competition economics, innovation, and industrial organization for one intensive week of academic exchange — in an inspiring setting on the Montenegrin coast.
What makes CISS different?
CISS is not a traditional conference. Participants and faculty share accommodation, meals, and excursions throughout the week, creating an environment where academic exchange happens naturally — in sessions, over dinner, and on the beach.
Three types of lectures
Lectures — Morning lectures by international faculty covering current research frontiers in innovation economics, competition policy, IP rights, and digital markets
Student Workshops — Small-group sessions where participants present and discuss their own research with faculty discussants, in an informal round-table format.
Research Workshops — Hands-on sessions on empirical methods and analytical tools, from econometric applications to data-driven competition analysis.
